Charnelle Cook is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Virginia with seven years of experience in private practice. She completed undergraduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and earned a Master of Arts in Counseling from George Washington University in 2016.
She adopts a strengths-based approach, encouraging clients to identify and build on what is already going well in their lives. She also uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, believing that shifts in thinking often open the door to meaningful change.
Autonomy and a person-centered stance guide her work - she allows clients to lead their sessions while providing structure and clinical guidance when appropriate. She values the transformative potential of therapy and is committed to supporting people as they work through life challenges.
She aims to respond to messages sent during the day within a few hours; messages received after 6pm on Fridays will be answered on Monday morning. In addition to messaging through the counseling room, clients can book live sessions by visiting her schedule and selecting a time that works for them.
Please remember that BetterHelp is not appropriate if you are in crisis or in immediate need of support. In crisis situations, call 911 or local emergency services. You can also call 1-800-273-TALK (8255) to speak with someone right away.
She looks forward to working with you.
