Cindy Burnett is a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina with 30 years of experience offering individual and family counseling. She approaches each person as having a unique life path shaped by family of origin, choices, relationships, and responses to experience, and she aims to support clients in reshaping how they view and respond to challenges along that path.
She offers an empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental presence to help clients gain perspective, build emotional support, and develop new ways to manage life. Her work emphasizes increasing self-awareness, repairing relationships, and supporting clients through transitions so they can move forward more successfully.
Her clinical methods draw on client-centered, solution-focused, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help people reflect, accept, and change patterns that no longer serve them. Cindy has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of settings, including schools, community mental health, and services for students and adults with intellectual challenges. She has focused much of her practice on adolescents, young adults, and family work.
Her training includes a master’s degree in community agency counseling and a master’s degree in elementary and secondary school counseling, both from Clemson University, as well as a Global Career Development Facilitator certification to assist clients facing career transitions. She holds a South Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor credential (LPC 3661), which authorizes her to provide professional therapy in the state.
Cindy has experience addressing a wide range of concerns, including relationship issues, self-acceptance, depression, anxiety, anger management, blended family dynamics, personality disorders, ADHD, and life transitions. She welcomes the opportunity to partner with individuals and families who are seeking support and practical strategies to improve their lives, and she encourages anyone considering therapy to find a therapist they trust and feel comfortable with.
Many people wonder whether online therapy truly helps. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and navigating life changes, research and practice have shown that remote therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major benefit is flexibility - clients can connect in the format that best fits their needs and schedule, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability makes it easier to maintain continuity of care during busy or transitional times.
Online therapy is provided by licensed professionals and therapists, and clients have the option to switch practitioners if they need a different fit. For many people seeking help with everyday mental health concerns and life transitions, online therapy offers a practical and effective way to access support.
