Emily Hand

Emily Hand is a Licensed Professional Counselor licensed to practice in Tennessee and Virginia with four years of clinical experience. She has extensive experience working with substance and behavioral addictions and has supported people facing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship struggles, and parenting concerns.

Much of Emily’s professional training has centered on care for people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. Her counseling style is curious and interactive - she aims to meet clients where they are and engages with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, avoiding stigmatizing labels.

Emily combines evidence-based methods to match each person’s needs, including EMDR, rational emotive behavioral therapy, mindfulness interventions, and grief counseling. She individualizes conversations and treatment plans so they align with each client’s specific circumstances and goals.

She believes the brain, like the body, is capable of healing and is wired to pursue fulfillment and well-being, though people can become stuck in painful emotions or difficult situations. Seeking help demonstrates courage and curiosity, and Emily views that step as the beginning of change. If a client chooses to work with her, she considers it an honor to support and empower their growth.
