Gabriele Hoog recognizes that reaching out for help often takes considerable strength and courage. She strives to offer a calm, supportive atmosphere where clients are listened to, validated, and can feel safe as they explore difficult emotions and experiences.
She is licensed in Missouri as a clinical social worker, a credential that reflects advanced clinical training and authorization to provide psychotherapy (license MO LCSW 2011030925).
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Gabriele supports people living with depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, and substance use or addictions. She also works with clients facing bipolar disorder, relationship and family conflicts, grief, eating and sleeping disorders, parenting concerns, anger management, self-esteem challenges, career difficulties, coping with life changes, compassion fatigue, and ADHD.
In addition to providing a space to process feelings, she emphasizes developing practical strategies for managing intense emotions so clients can make forward progress. Using a strengths-based and solutions-focused approach, she collaborates with clients to create individualized treatment plans. Gabriele draws on cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients identify links between thoughts, feelings, and actions, and she teaches distress tolerance skills from dialectical behavior therapy - including mindfulness, grounding techniques, and breathing exercises - to help manage overwhelming states.
Gabriele views each person as the expert on their own life and aims to empower clients to identify and build on their personal strengths. Her primary goal as a therapist is to encourage change that restores greater peace and balance to daily life.
Many people want to know whether online therapy can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or navigating life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person treatment for many people.
One major benefit is flexibility - you can connect in the way that fits your schedule and comfort level, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This flexibility makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and to maintain continuity of care.
These services are provided by licensed professionals and therapists. If you feel the fit is not right, you can switch to a different therapist at any time to find a better match for your needs.
