Jane Meyers approaches therapy from a belief in human resilience and the capacity to regain confidence when self-doubt takes hold. She draws on two decades of clinical experience and a wide array of therapeutic methods to help people identify their own answers and move forward.
Her work integrates tools from Dialectical, Cognitive, and Behavioral therapies alongside Psychoanalytic, Life-Stage, Systems, Holistic, and Biofeedback approaches, among others - applying what fits each person’s needs. This blend supports work across a spectrum of concerns, from temporary life challenges to serious mental illness.
Meyers has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and her background includes forensics, geriatrics, residential settings, crisis counseling, and care for the severely mentally ill. She currently serves as a behavioral health supervisor in a program that provides mobile services to individuals with serious mental illness, and she maintains a private practice to broaden her clinical experience.
Licensed as a clinical social worker in New York (LCSW-R, license number NY LCSW 084489), Meyers has practiced as a social worker since 2001. She earned an Associate’s degree from a local community college, completed her bachelor’s degree through an online state university program, and received her Master of Social Work from Marywood University.
Originally from Upstate New York, Meyers is 48 years old and is a parent of three adult children. She is a longtime supporter of telecounseling and offers remote services to increase access for people who might otherwise face barriers to engaging in therapy.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can make a real difference. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions, online therapy has been shown to be as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage is flexibility - clients can choose the format that fits their routine and comfort level, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it easier to incorporate therapy into a busy life or to reach support when in-person visits are difficult.
Therapists who provide remote services are licensed professionals, and clients may switch therapists at any time if they prefer a different fit. For many people, online therapy offers a practical and effective way to access mental health support while keeping treatment adaptable to individual needs.
