Jean Rutherford is a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience working in health care. Over the course of her career she has partnered with individuals during some of the most vulnerable and difficult times - supporting people through pain, suffering, loss, illness, addiction, depression, and anxiety.
She emphasizes the importance of being heard, understood, and having an advocate during times of struggle, and she offers collaborative support as clients navigate life’s challenges. Jean works with people coping with grief, depression and anxiety, making positive changes, and developing strategies to manage stress.
Jean holds licensure in both Nevada and Michigan; she is a licensed clinical social worker in Nevada (LCSW license number 11454-C) and credentialed as a licensed master social worker in Michigan (LMSW license number 6801034643), which reflects her clinical training and years of practice.
She is passionate about personal growth and helping others pursue their full potential. In her free time Jean enjoys spending time with family and friends. She often shares a favorite quote from Theodore Roosevelt: “Believe you can and you’re half way there.” She looks forward to hearing from prospective clients.
Online therapy can be an effective option for many common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and navigating life changes. Research and practice have shown that for these issues, virtual sessions often provide results comparable to in-person care.
A major benefit is flexibility - clients can choose the format that works best for them, including video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or messaging within an app. That flexibility makes it easier to fit counseling into a busy schedule or access support from a preferred location.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and clients have the option to switch therapists at any time if they need a different therapeutic fit. For many people, online sessions offer a convenient and practical way to receive consistent support for emotional and behavioral concerns.
