Jessica Ellefritz welcomes the opportunity to be present with people during times of hurt, crisis, and life transition, viewing that invitation as a professional privilege. She brings 15 years of clinical experience as a licensed clinical social worker practicing in Illinois and works to learn each person’s unique story before shaping treatment.
Jessica uses a client-centered, strengths-based framework alongside motivational interviewing to create a therapeutic environment tailored to each individual’s needs. She aims to support clients as they move toward a more peaceful, healthier, and safer way of living.
Her background includes a Bachelor of Social Work from Western Illinois University and a Master of Social Work from Michigan State University. Over the course of her career she has worked in multiple roles and settings, including outpatient therapy, counseling, hospice social work, and school social work, and has experience addressing concerns such as stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma and abuse, grief, depression, family conflicts, parenting challenges, self-esteem, career difficulties, bipolar disorder, coping with life changes, and compassion fatigue.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can be meaningful. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or navigating life changes, online therapy has been found to be comparable in effectiveness to traditional in-person sessions for most people.
A major benefit is flexibility - you can connect in the way that suits you best, whether by video call, phone, live chat, or in-app messaging. This range of options can make it simpler to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to choose the format that feels most comfortable.
Therapists offering online care are licensed professionals, and if you ever feel you need a different fit you can choose to switch to another therapist. For many individuals, virtual therapy offers an accessible path to support while addressing everyday mental health and life concerns.
