He creates an atmosphere that is compassionate, accepting, and non-judgmental, and works with individuals, couples, and families in both private practice and hospital settings.
With two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Roux helps people address a wide range of concerns including grief, depression, stress and anxiety, coping with life changes, addictions, compassion fatigue, relationship and family conflicts, trauma and abuse, parenting and self-esteem issues, career difficulties, and LGBT-related matters.
He holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine and also earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts from the University San Francisco. He completed an Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University focused on Strategic Human Resources Management, and maintains certifications in Clinical and Organizational Psychology, Executive Coaching, along with HeartMath and Caring Science Caritas coach certifications. He is licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist - license number CA LMFT 31698.
Dr. Roux integrates Cognitive-Behavioral methods, Brief Strategic Psychotherapy, Caring Science, and Narrative Therapy into his clinical approach, tailoring care to each person’s needs. His private practice hours are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and he typically checks messages once or twice per day on those days. He aims to respond promptly but asks for patience when other professional responsibilities require attention.
Dr. Roux welcomes new clients and looks forward to partnering with individuals and families on their journeys toward improved well-being.
Many people wonder whether online therapy can produce real benefits. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or managing life transitions, online therapy is often as effective as in-person care.
One key advantage is flexibility - people can connect with a therapist in the format that best fits their schedule and comfort, including video sessions, phone appointments, live chat, or in-app messaging. This adaptability can make it easier to keep appointments and integrate therapy into a busy life.
All therapists are licensed professionals, and you have the option to change therapists if you feel another clinician would be a better fit. Online therapy can be a practical, accessible way to work on mental health and life challenges while maintaining versatility in how care is delivered.
