Kayla Davis is a licensed clinical social worker based in Hawaii with 14 years of experience in the field. She began her educational journey with an Associate of Applied Science in Nutrition from the University of New Hampshire, then completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Bridgewater State University.
After working primarily with eating disorder and mental health populations, she returned to graduate school in Hawaii at Pacific University to earn her Master of Social Work. During graduate internships she gained hands-on experience addressing addictions, supporting cancer survivors and their families, and working closely with people experiencing mental illness. Her training emphasized cultural competence, which continues to inform her day-to-day clinical work.
In her post-graduate career Kayla has worked with homeless and teen populations as well as individuals facing addictions, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and other mental health challenges. She focuses on clients’ strengths and meeting people where they are, using a blend of cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Kayla centers active listening and supportive reflection in sessions to help clients make decisions that fit their goals.
She holds licensure to practice social work in both Hawaii and Massachusetts. Kayla brings a flexible, strengths-based approach shaped by broad clinical experience across diverse populations.
Many people wonder whether remote therapy can truly help. For a range of common concerns - including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions - research and clinical experience indicate that online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care.
An important benefit is flexibility. Clients can connect in the format that suits them best - video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging - which makes it easier to fit therapy into busy schedules and different lifestyles.
Licensed professionals provide care online, and if a different therapeutic fit is desired it is possible to switch to another therapist. Online therapy offers a practical, adaptable option for many people seeking support for everyday mental health concerns.
