Keionna Baker is a licensed mental health counselor who combines deep clinical training with a genuine commitment to helping people navigate difficult times. She holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling and is licensed to practice in multiple states, and she is also pursuing certification in addictions counseling while keeping active memberships in relevant professional organizations.
Her graduate training was completed at Argosy University in Nashville, with the degree conferred in December 2011, and she earned an undergraduate degree in social work from Austin Peay State University in May 2007. She graduated summa cum laude from both degree programs.
With more than ten years of clinical experience, Keionna has worked with adolescents and adults across a wide range of settings - including military installations, K-12 schools, day treatment and outpatient clinics, juvenile and adult correctional facilities, child welfare services, religious organizations, in-home care, and telehealth through video, phone, and text-based formats. She also has specialized experience through a Department of Defense contract with the Military Life Counseling Family Program, supporting military personnel, spouses, children, families, and educators through transitions such as deployments and relocations.
Her clinical expertise covers a broad spectrum of concerns, including stress and anxiety, mood disorders such as bipolar disorder and depression, trauma and abuse, dissociative and trauma-related disorders, eating and sleep disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders, attention and neurodevelopmental disorders, personality and conduct-related challenges, and grief and life transitions. She has substantial experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who live with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum conditions.
Keionna has completed additional training related to diversity and inclusion and has incorporated faith-informed approaches such as Inner Healing Prayer into the options she offers clients. She maintains professional involvement through associations and continuing education, and she frequently appears as a guest speaker at behavioral health events, faith communities, community centers, and educational settings to promote the value of mental health care.
Outside of clinical work, Keionna is a proud military spouse and a mother of three. In her free time she enjoys crafting—which she describes as a favorite therapeutic activity—and baking with her family.
For many common concerns—including stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and life transitions—online therapy can be as effective as traditional in-person care. Research and clinical experience indicate that virtual sessions often provide meaningful progress for these types of issues.
One major advantage of remote care is practical flexibility. People can choose the format that works best for them, whether that is video sessions, phone conversations, live chat, or messaging. This range of options makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule and to connect in ways that feel comfortable.
Licensed professionals deliver online services, and clients have the option to change therapists if they need a different fit. For many individuals seeking treatment for everyday mental health concerns, remote therapy offers an accessible and effective path forward.
