Lawrence Baker has worked in social services since 1994 and has practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2005. He brings 20 years of clinical experience to his work with a range of populations, including veterans and their families and people coping with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, substance use concerns, psychotic disorders, and adjustment difficulties.
The majority of his work has taken place in individual, family, and group therapy settings, where he focuses on helping people move beyond difficult experiences and build a more fulfilling, meaningful life. He approaches therapy in a conversational, interactive way and is known as a kind and compassionate listener who welcomes clients from all backgrounds.
Lawrence practices in Alabama and holds licensure as a professional counselor in the state. He believes everyone has the right to be heard and to receive care delivered with dignity, kindness, and respect.
Many people wonder whether remote counseling can truly help. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One major advantage is flexibility - clients can connect in the way that fits their needs and schedule, whether that is a video session, a phone call, a live chat, or in-app messaging. This variety makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy life and maintain continuity of care.
Licensed professionals offer online services, and if a different therapeutic fit is needed, clients are able to switch providers. For many people, virtual therapy provides an accessible, practical path to addressing everyday concerns and working toward improved well-being.
