Tasheena Donell is a licensed counselor based in West Virginia who is also authorized to practice in South Carolina and Washington. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Charleston and a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Her licenses include a South Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor (SC LPC 9135) and a Washington Licensed Mental Health Counselor (WA LMHC LH61515227), and she maintains licensure in West Virginia as well.
With five years of clinical experience, Tasheena has provided both individual and group therapy to at-risk youth and their families within court and corrections settings. Her work in those environments has addressed substance use, behavioral challenges, emotion regulation, relationship and communication difficulties, process addictions, and a range of other concerns tailored to each client’s needs.
She is certified to treat anxiety disorders as well as body-focused repetitive behaviors, worry, and panic, and she has professional experience working with anxiety, depression, young adult issues, relationship struggles, and domestic violence. Tasheena advocates for healthy relationships and clear boundaries, and she is passionate about self-care, personal and family growth, anxiety management, and supporting clients’ development across multiple areas of life. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, often drawing on solution-focused techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing, and she prioritizes building rapport so clients can feel safe to be themselves without fear of judgment.
Many people ask whether online therapy can truly help them. For common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or adjusting to life changes, online therapy has been shown to be just as effective as traditional in-person sessions.
One of the main benefits is flexibility - clients can connect in the format that feels most comfortable, whether through video calls, phone sessions, live chat, or in-app messaging. That flexibility often makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule.
Therapists who provide remote services are licensed professionals, and if a different match would better meet your needs, you can switch therapists at any time. For many people, online therapy offers an accessible way to get consistent support for day-to-day and life-transition concerns.
