Yasmin Botte understands that living with depression, anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties and other challenging experiences can leave a person feeling disconnected and alone. She focuses on offering a safe, healing therapeutic relationship in which people can gain a deeper understanding of their struggles and, with her guidance, feel empowered to make lasting positive changes. Her approach integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness-based practices, person-centered principles and psychodynamic perspectives to address a wide range of concerns.
With seven years of experience in the mental health field, Yasmin has worked at a center for victims of violence, provided individual and group therapy in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings, and practiced in private settings offering therapy to adults, adolescents, couples and families. She provides support for stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, self-esteem issues, concerns of LGBT individuals, family problems, trauma and abuse, and anger management.
Yasmin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from the City University of New York College of Staten Island. Her graduate program included concentrations in grief and loss, addictions and career counseling, and she has completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. She is a licensed mental health counselor in New York and operates from New York, offering services informed by both clinical training and hands-on experience.
She also maintains a Facebook page, NY Online Counseling and Psychotherapy, where she shares helpful articles and inspiration.
